Miradors ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.

Key Point: Miradors is designed with privacy in mind. We don't require user accounts, don't collect personal information, and don't track your activities.

Information We Access

Camera Access

• Used only when you choose to take photos within the app
• Photos are processed for AI analysis to provide menu translations, food information, or landmark details
• We do not store your photos on our servers
• You control when the camera is used

Photo Library Access

• Used only when you choose to select photos from your library
• Optional permission to save photos you take to your photo library
• We only access photos you explicitly select
• We cannot see other photos in your library

Location Information

• Used only when you request nearby restaurant recommendations
• Your location is sent to Google Places API to find nearby establishments
• Location data is not stored or tracked
• You can use most app features without granting location access

How We Process Your Data

Photo Analysis

When you take or select a photo for analysis:

• The image is sent securely to OpenAI's API for processing
• OpenAI analyzes the image and returns results
• The image is not retained by our servers or OpenAI after processing
• Results are delivered directly to your device

Chat Messages

• Your chat messages are sent to OpenAI to generate responses
• Chat history is stored locally on your device only
• We do not have access to your chat history
• Deleting the app removes all chat history

Restaurant Recommendations

• When you request nearby restaurants, your coordinates are sent to Google Places API
• Google returns restaurant information based on your location
• We do not store your location history

Data Storage

• On Your Device: Chat history, app preferences, and settings are stored locally using iOS's secure storage
• On Our Servers: We do not store any personal data, photos, or usage information on our servers
• Third-Party Services: Data sent to OpenAI and Google is subject to their respective privacy policies

Third-Party Services

OpenAI

• Processes images and text for AI-powered features
• Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy
• We use OpenAI's API in a way that doesn't require user identification

Google Places API

• Provides restaurant information and photos
• Subject to Google's Privacy Policy
• Only used when you request location-based features

Your Rights and Controls

• Access Control: You can grant or revoke camera, photo, and location permissions at any time in iOS Settings
• Data Deletion: Simply delete the app to remove all locally stored data
• No Account: Since we don't use accounts, there's no personal profile to manage or delete

Data Security

• All communications with our servers use encrypted HTTPS connections
• We use device-based authentication to secure API access
• Your data on the device is protected by iOS security features

Children's Privacy

Miradors is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

International Users

Miradors is available globally. When you use the app, data may be processed in the United States where our service providers are located.
